The Taste of Thanks event is a cherished tradition that has been a significant part of Pragnya's calendar since its inception in 2018. This annual celebration serves as a heartfelt gesture to acknowledge and express gratitude towards the invaluable support and partnership of our allies within the Pragnya family and from the community.

Experience Togetherness...

Each year, the event is meticulously planned by our Pragnya Team to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere, where attendees can connect, share stories, and we get to express our gratitude to all the relationships we built with our community partners in the year. The Event symbolizes appreciation and unity, setting the tone for an inclusive, memorable gathering.​​

The holiday season in the USA starts around October and stretches into December, with Halloween, Navratri, Diwali, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa and more. However, for individuals with neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions, the holidays are the most difficult times of the year, due to a multitude of issues, sensory (crowds, noises, sounds etc.), but most importantly due to the fear of judgment or being misunderstood. Neurominority individuals do not often get invited to a sit down family feast with their friends and family members and even if they do, as they age, their natural supports drop off and they are moved into residential settings, where an elaborate sit down meal with fun, friends and fanfare is hardly the norm.  This is why PRAGNYA’s Taste of Thanks also is an opportunity for them to experience the sense of community, of belonging, of sitting down and dining with other community members who are accepting and appreciative of them. ​​​
